Peruvian Assemblies and Meetings

By Jen, 28 November, 2005, No Comment

This week we are in Chiclayo, a coastal town in the north of Peru. We are here to meet all of the 16 district superintendents, to observe and take part in some Peruvian meetings and some field meetings, and to attend the graduation of our Nazarene seminary here in Chiclayo. Please pray for us as we develop relationships with the Peruvian leadership, take part in these exclusively spanish speaking meetings, and our health as Jen already has a cold! We appreciate your prayers as the leaders of the Peruvian Church discuss plans and strategies for the future.

Doug Preaches in Spanish

By Jen, 28 November, 2005, No Comment

Please pray for Doug this week as he has his first preaching engagements in Spanish. He has already preached twice this weekend. The first was a wedding and the second was a church anniversary. Both situations were a suprise to us but we are learning to be ready for anything! God used the evangelistic message that Doug had preprepared and at both services there were new converts… Praise God! He will have at least one other opportunity durning this week to preach, so please keep him in your prayers.

English Bible Study

By Jen, 7 November, 2005, No Comment

This evening we will be starting a weekly bible study in our home for young people who speak English. This will be a word of mouth group, so we expect this evening to start with 3 or 4 young poeple from our local nazarene church. We are looking forward to this oppertunity to be engaged in a local ministry. Please pray for us as we lead the study and as we start to meet together. Please also pray with us that the group will attract some non-christians. We will post a picture of the group later!
