Belly Watch 30 Weeks

By Jen, 27 August, 2006, No Comment

Here’s Jen this morning… thirty weeks pregnant… Just 10 more left, we hope!

Please keep us in your prayers as the growing bump is causing Jen to have problems sleeping at night, which in turn distrupts Doug, so we are both becoming increasingly tired. When we are tired it is hard to think and work in Spanish! We would appreciate your prayers for some restful sleep and energy. Thank you!

Jesus Film Showings

By Jen, 23 August, 2006, No Comment

Just this week Peru received a new set of multi media equipment for showing the Jesus Film, thanks to David Jagt and his grandson Josh who between the two of them brought all of the equipment from the USA to Lima. For the past two nights we joined the Central District Jesus Film Team as they showed the film in an area about half an hour from our office called ‘Mi Peru’. We also took part in a distribution of anti parasite drugs after the showing, providing pills to around 60 people. There were many confessions of faith, and it was truly exciting to be involved in some ‘on the street missions work’ after mainly working from the office here in Lima. We want to say a big THANK YOU to David and Josh for bringing the equipment.

Here are a few photos from last night showing the area, set up and showing of the film.

set up Set up of this new and lighter equipment took only half an hour.
Showing About 150 people saw the film over the two nights and many people last night gave their lives to God. They will now join a group of new believers who will be discipled by the pastor and members of the local church in Mi Peru.

Jim and Zieda leave for KC

We have happy but sad news from the missionary team here in Peru. Jim and Zieda Lynch, who have worked at the field office for three years are travelling to Kansas City this week to join this falls missionary training class. They then will be assigned as intern missionaries in January 2007. We shall have to wait and see what plan God has for them regarding their future assignment. We will miss them, but pray that they will have a fun and sucessful time during training.

Here’s the belly at 26 weeks pregnant… The good Vermont weather and food (including fresh friut pies and good chedder cheese) seems to be doing us good, I have been growing steadily since arriving… better be careful though, we dont want a 9 pound baby!
