We very excited to announce that the newest member of our family was born today at 12.50pm, after only a morning of medication free natural labor. Jonathan Edward Mann weighs 7lbs 8oz, he is 19.5 inches long and he has fair hair. We are thankful to God for his anwers to prayer regarding the whole process, and for Jonathan and Jen’s health… both are doing great! Dad did great too :)

Belly Watch 38 Weeks

By Jen, 26 October, 2006, No Comment

We are getting so close to meeting the new little member of the family! This is Jen at 38 weeks and 4 days feeling big, achy and ready to ‘put the baby down’ or ‘hand the baby to Daddy’!
The Dr has been monitoring Jen carefully over the past two weeks since her placenta is looking quite calcified… however, the baby is doing great and we are just praying that labor will start naturally before any problems arise that would necessitate the Dr to induce.
Hopefully any day now…. :)

Leadership Change in Peru

Exciting News from Peru

By Jen, 3 October, 2006, No Comment

As of the 1st October Rev. Segundo Rimarachin, a Peruvian national, has been appointed by World Mission to be the Country Strategy Coordinator for Peru. This is an exciting step forward for the Peruvian Church. Nazarene Missionaries entered Peru over 90 years ago, and although there has been a steady hand over of leadership roles to Peruvian nationals, this is the first time in the history here that a national will lead the Church at a country level.

It is also an exciting time for us. It should be the dream of every missionary to “work themselves out of a job” by handing the church over to national leadership and moving to a new area to help build the church. We are not saying that we will be leaving Peru anytime soon! We shall be here working under Segundo Rimarachin’s direction in supportive and facilitation roles for as long as we are needed here. We feel truely excited and blessed to be working here during this transition of leadership and historic time for the Paruvian Nazarene Church.

Obvioulsy this change in leadership will mean many changes ahead for us all. Segundo and his family will be moving from the North of the country to the Capital here in Lima. Please pray for them during the next few months as they transition from a place that they have lived and worked for 25 years. Our roles along with the others who work here in the Central Andean Field Office will be also changing. As these changes start to happen we will keep you updated with the latest news.
