Sometimes pictures say much more than words… so, thanks to my Dad, Phil Weatherill and his love of photography, here are some glimpses of life here in Peru, the ministry and our family.

Changes, busyness and a holiday…

By admin, 19 April, 2007, No Comment

Well, it has been a long time since we updated our ministry site. Part of the reason is because we have been so busy with work, changing roles, work and witness, and holiday time!

The end of March brought Jen’s parents for an Easter time visit. The time with them was wonderful and we took the chance over the Easter holiday to go and visit the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. To get out of the city and into the mountains was a refreshing break.

The last few months have also brought the change in role for Jen. She is now the Coordinator of the Child Sponsorship program for the field. With over 250 pastors kids enrolled in the program this has brought a new busyness to Jen’s days! Doug continues to enjoy the changing role that he has experienced over the past few months. Working with and supporting Segundo is taking his Spanish abilities to new levels. He is preaching often and we are also speaking at bible studies and NMI meetings in the churches around Lima. Last month Lima received a work and witness team to construct church buildings and run a medical clinic. Jen was able to spend a few days with the team doing triage and translation for the doctor & nurses. Over the 4 days that the clinic ran in the neighborhood of Angamos, over 250 people were seen on the second floor whilst the top floor of the church was being built!

The next few months will bring more busyness as we receive a variety of different visitors to the field and travel to Arequipa and Puno, have farewells for two members of staff at the Field Office, and continue to support national leadership as they work to see their goals achieved for the Peruvian church and mission.

We will do a little better updated as things happen in the months to come!
