Martha Pereche

Some of you will remember from the DVD that we showed as part of our Home Assignment Services a lady called Martha Pereche who is pastoring the “Tortuga’ Church of the Nazarene. In January we recieved the news that Martha was suffering from cancer and she had been given only three months to live. She saw three different doctors all giving the same diagnosis. We shared this news with some churches so that they could start to pray for Martha. It was difficult for us to watch that DVD at each service and think of how little time Martha had to live… we continued to pray for her.

Well.. God is good! Throughout the past few months the entire Church of the Nazarene in the North Pacific District have been holding special times of prayer for Martha, and many people throughout the rest of the country and beyond have been praying for her. Today, Martha is doing extreamly well. She reports feeling fit and healthy even although the lump that was tested as cancerous remains. At some point she will undergo more tests to see if the lump remains cancerous. In February she was given immediate leave from her church, but since having more energy and feeling well she has invested her time supporting two other church plants in the area! Please continue to pray for Martha, for complete healing and health. She has impacted so many lives for the Gospel and is a key leader here in the North of Peru. What a testomony she is to those living and working around her!
